Luke Jerram’s 7-metre artwork Helios to be displayed outside in a glade in the Pleasure Grounds of Basildon Park, until Sunday and again from 22-25 August. The sculpture combines audio and visual artistry, including the sound of the sun captured by NASA. Programme of activities includes skygazing through solar scopes, trying on space suits, Indian classical dance to the sun god Lord Shiva, yoga and BBQ on the front lawn. Newbury and District Transport Group meeting at Kennet School Thatcham, 7pm to 9pm. Terry and Justin Foulger from Basingstoke. Terry will be showing a collection of his old railway pictures from the 1970s to the late 1980s in the first half and Justin will be showing some of his railway adventures from 2023 in the second half. Refreshments and raffle. Free admission.
