Lambourn charity's £1,000 boost

THE Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company has received a £1,000 grant from Berkshire Community Foundation.

The money will go towards funding the Lambourn Warm Welcome, which provides a warm and welcoming place with a free lunch once a week for those who are challenged by the current cost-of-living crisis.

The Warm Welcome also delivers lunches to those who cannot attend the lunches in person.

Organiser of the Lambourn Warm Welcome project, Helen Noll, said: "The generous grant from Berkshire Community Foundation will allow us to provide hundreds of hot and nutritious meals free of charge to those who need a helping hand at this difficult time."

Chief executive of the Berkshire Community Foundation Jon Yates said: "At Berkshire Community Foundation, we work to enable vibrant, caring and resilient communities by directing philanthropic funds towards charities that perform vital functions for local people.

"We are delighted to support the Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company in its important work and look forward to the positive impact enabled by this grant."

The Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company was set up in April 2021 as a not-for-profit company to encourage, enable and operate community activities in Lambourn and the surrounding area.

The company operates the Lambourn Food Bank, the youth club and a number of other community projects.

Berkshire Community Foundation works across Berkshire to raise, then distribute, funds to charities and community groups in the county.
