10-week project to replace aging water main starting soon in East Ilsley
A mains water upgrade lasting 10 weeks is being planned in a West Berkshire village later this month, writes Martha White.
Thames Water has said it will be replacing the aging water mains in East Ilsley to improve supply reliability in the area.
It will be completing the work in phases, starting on Monday, June 23.
Traffic management measures will be in place from:
June 23 to July 29 (Cow Lane, single lane closure),
and July 23 to September 2 (Compton Road, full closure with diversion).
In a statement, the water utility provider said: “These works involve replacing ageing cast iron water mains with modern polyethylene pipes to improve supply resilience and reduce burst pipes and leaks in the area.”
Thames Water will be holding a drop-in session to give residents a chance to engage with its team directly about the works from 9am to 3pm at The Swan Hotel car park on Wednesday, June 11.
