Saturday showcase for Newbury's own swing band

The Apollo Big Band returns to the Newbury Corn Exchange on Saturday for its annual showcase concert. The Apollo Big Band was established in 2001, so this year they'll be celebrating 10 years of music-making with a varied programme of Big Band hits old and new, with guest vocals from Pauline Richings and Antony Ferraro.

The band first performed at the Corn Exchange in 2003, and proved to be so popular that it has now become a regular fixture in the NCE calendar. Founder member of the band, guitarist George Wicks, says “we always look forward to playing at the Corn Exchange, it's a great atmosphere and we receive such positive feedback from the audience”.

Tickets, priced at £10, are available from the Newbury Corn Exchange box office (01635 522733) or online at www.cornexchangenew.com
