Thames Valley Police appealing for witnesses to attempted robbery outside Hermitage Co-op




A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery outside Co-op in Hermitage on Thursday, May 12.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident that occurred at around 4.45pm on Newbury Road.

A 14-year-old boy from Hermitage has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault by beating. He has since been released on police bail.

Investigating officer PC Angharad Lake said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the offence, or has footage from the area to please contact the force.”

The victim, a man in his twenties, was about to start his moped when he was approached by a boy who threw a can of drink at him and threatened the victim with a knife, demanding he hand over his vehicle.

The victim managed to flee the scene on his moped, but he suffered eye injuries which had to be treated at hospital.

PC Lake also said: “The easiest way to provide us with information is on our website or by calling 101, quoting investigation reference 43220205621.”
