150 turn out for Peasemore run





Steve Naylor, of Bedford and County Athletics Club, smashed the record and completed the course in 25 minutes 44 seconds.
Second place went to Nick Jones, of Newbury, running in 27 minutes 29 seconds with Mark Worringham, of Reading Road Runners, coming third in a time of 27 minutes 37 seconds.
Sophie Crumly, from Newbury Athletics Club, was the first woman to finish for the second year running, beating her previous record and completing in 33 minutes 29 seconds.
Jenny Eaton, from Purple Patch, ran in 36 minutes 35 seconds coming second among the women. She was also the first lady in the Female 45 category. Carrie Bolton took third in 37 minutes 7 seconds.
Winner of the Female 55 category was Sarah Fowler, from Newbury Athletics Club, in 37 minutes 24 seconds.
Marwood Jeans won the Peasemore resident category for a second year while Dorian Cook, from Chieveley, was the first local resident.
An estimated £1,300 was raised for Living Paintings, a Kingsclere based charity which provides a free library of Touch to See books for blind and visually impaired adults and children.
Event organiser, Cath Brighton, said: “It was a really brilliant day.
“Thanks to all the volunteers who helped to make the day such a success and a big thank you to all the sponsors for their contributions.”
