17-year old among three charged after serious assault




Three people have been charged after an assault in Newbury left a man in hospital with serious head injuries.
The charges relate to an attack that happened on April 13 when a man in his twenties was threatened with a wooden stick and assaulted while in Skyllings, Newbury.
He received serious head injuries after the attack and required hospital treatment.
23-year old Mathew Harle, 20-year old Stephen Harle, both of Skyllings, and an unamed 17-year old boy were all charged with one count of wounding with intent and one count of threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
All three were bailed by Reading Magistrate’s Court last week and the two men will appear at Reading Crown Court on May 19, and the unnamed 17-year old on April 27.
A 22-year old woman arrested on the day of the attack was bailed until May 1.
