1938: 32,000 gas masks assembled in one day

Employees of Messrs Elliot of Newbury ltd were charged with distribution of gas masks to the Newbury rural district.

With the threat of war looming across Europe, an incredible 32,000 masks were assembled in just one day in September 1938.
