200 Chieveley homes remain in the dark until mid-evening after electrical fault





Just after 1pm today (Tuesday) about 170 customers in the village were affected by dimmed / low voltage lighting.
Engineers identified that a piece of over-head line had become faulty and had to turn the power off to a further 30 properties to fix the problem.
About 200 properties were plunged into darkness in mid-afternoon as the repairs began.
Spokeswoman Sharon Miller McKenzie, said: “We are very much on site and we are able to look at exactly what we need to be doing.”
She expected the problem would be resolved by mid-evening.
