350 sheep stolen from Kintbury field

The sheep were stolen from a field in Clapton sometime overnight between Wednesday and Thursday

ABOUT 350 sheep have been stolen from a field in Kintbury this week.

Sometime overnight between Wednesday (March 23) and yesterday (Thursday), about 350 sheep were stolen from a field in Clapton, off Station Road in the village.

A fence was cut to gain entry to the field and the sheep were led onto the road to be loaded.

PC Will Smith, from Newbury police station, said: “The sheep were tagged and it is likely the offenders would have spent some time getting the sheep on to a lorry.
