Crews from Newbury were called at around 8pm to the property in Bishops Road after resin from a wood burner caught fire.
Watch manager Robin Whitman said that although there was no risk to the property, the fire had been difficult to deal with owing to the intense heat.
Indeed, crews left the scene just before 1am.
Mr Whitman advised residents to have their chimneys professionally swept if they had not already done so within the last year.
