Rock Choir donated the funds following a year of fundraising

A CHEQUE for £500 was presented to West Berkshire Mencap by the Rock Choir recently.

The choir members were heavily involved in supporting the charity throughout 2014, from volunteering at charity events and taking part in fundraisers, from a fashion show to Mencap's annual music night.

This batch of funds was raised through a concert held by the Rock Choir, led by Kat Penn, in aid of West Berkshire Mencap and a number of other charities last year.

Fundraising manager for West Berkshire Mencap, Carrie-Anne Ferrie, said: “As a local charity that is a vital source of support for so many locally, we rely on kind supporters like Rock Choir to raise much needed funds to maintain and expand the services we provide to help the local families we work with. We are so grateful to Kat and all of Rock Choir for their continuing support.

“They not only take part in fundraising events for us and bring a fantastic atmosphere with them, a number of them also volunteer for us at our services.”
