70-year-old Burghfield Common man arrested in connection with two burglaries near Andover




A 70-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two rural burglaries.

Police arrested the man, from Burghfield Common, on suspicion of two counts of burglary dwelling with intent to steal.

Officers responded to a report that power tools had been stolen from a container at Thruxton Aerodrome on Friday (January 24), believed to have taken place between 1am and 2am.

And at 1.50pm the same day, officers received another report that tools had been stolen from a container broken into in the Vernham Dean area.

Officers are treating both incidents as linked.

The man has been released on conditional bail while the police investigation continues.
