£80k of computer equipment stolen from Theale

Offenders smashed a hole in the wall to break into the premises in Station Road

COMPUTER equipment worth £80,000 has been stolen from an industrial premise in Theale after burglars smashed a hole in the wall.

The incident happened sometime between Saturday, February 19 and Monday, February 21 in Station Road.

The offenders smashed a hole in an external wall of the building, before entering and stealing hundreds of pieces of equipment.

The majority of the stolen items were wireless routers and adapters made by TP Link and Zyxel.

Investigating officer, Pc Nathan Adby, said: “This has obviously had a serious impact on the business as severe damage has been caused to the building as well as a massive loss of stock.

“The offenders must have been at the premises for a substantial amount of time to be able to knock through the wall and steal such a large number of items without being disturbed.

“It is unknown how the offenders left the scene but it is more than likely that they used a transit van or similar to be able to remove all the items.”

He added: “I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious or anyone who has seen any suspicious vehicles in the area around Station Road Industrial Estate, to come forward and speak to me as soon as possible.

“I would also ask that if members of the public are aware of anyone who is selling or offering to sell any similar equipment either in person or via internet auction sites they contact police immediately”.

Anyone with any information should contact Pc Adby on the police non-emergency number 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
