£90,000 fund will help West Berkshire groups working on mental health support
A new £90,000 fund has been launched to help West Berkshire groups working on mental health initiatives.
Let’s Get Mindful is a new scheme for not-for-profit groups looking to implement projects that support residents in need of support.
It will ensure organisations can expand their work, offer additional support, purchase necessary equipment, or launch new initiatives.
A partnership between West Berkshire Council and Greenham Trust, it will focus on areas considered most in need and projects that help those considered vulnerable and/or isolated.
The scheme has been welcomed by Patrick Clark, West Berkshire’s executive member for adult social care and public health and ward member for Newbury Wash Common.
He said the council was delighted to be teaming up with Greenham Trust for this project.
“The support the Let’s Get Mindful fund offers can bring about great changes in people’s lives and give a financial boost in areas and initiatives that need it most,” he said.
A panel will review and approve application submissions on a rolling basis.

Greenham Trust’s chief executive, Chris Boulton, said the fund would be a “vital opportunity” for charities and community groups.
“By offering grants, we hope to support the organisations working tirelessly to improve the quality of life for those facing mental health challenges in our community,” he added.
