A feast of festive fairs
Fairs will be taking place across the district this weekend to get people in the Christmas spirit
THERE will be a feast of festive fairs in West Berkshire this weekend.
Saturday:
The Friends of John Rankin Schools will hold their Christmas craft fair from 2pm until 4pm.
The event will be held at both the junior school in Henshaw Crescent, Newbury, and in the infant school in Garford Crescent, Newbury.
Father Christmas will be there as well as activities and games for children and adult stalls.
St Martin's School will hold its fair in East Woodhay Village Hall from 2pm to 5pm to raise money for the school association.
East Woodhay Silver Band and East Woodhay Handbell Ringers will be performing and there will be a range of stalls.
Argyles Nursing Home, Pound Street, Newbury will be holding their Christmas Bazaar from 2pm to 4pm.
People are invited for an afternoon of raffles, tombola, guess the weight of the cake and gifts.
The event is raising money for resident outings and entertainment.
An advent fair will be held at Alder Bridge School, Aldermaston from 11.30am to 3pm.
There will be a Christmas market for adults and children with arts and crafts, a candle dipping grotto, raffles, live music and food.
Drake Hall at Pangbourne College will be the setting of the Christmas Bazaar from 10.30am until 2pm.
There will be the opportunity to buy gifts as well as take part in competitions and games.
Sunday:
New Greenham Arts fair will return on Sunday from 10am until 4pm where people can find Christmas gifts or unique pieces for the home.
The fair at New Greenham Arts will provide the opportunity to discuss and purchase works, including jewellery, paintings, prints, ceramics and sculptures, direct from the artist.
Christmas carols and crafts will be held at Shaw House, Newbury from 11am until 4pm.
There will be a chance to sing along with the Speenhamland Ladies Choir, visit the craft fair or join in craft activities.
