A great response to years of community fundraising

The vehicle has been bought using substantial donations received by the Stratfield Mortimer Relief in Need charity, logistics firm Kuhne and Nagel as well as local residents.
The Ford Kuga 4x4 will be used by Mortimer and Burghfield community first responders, who attend medical emergencies while ambulance resources are en route.
South Central Ambulance Service’s community responder liaison and training officer for West Berkshire, David Hamer, said: “This vehicle is the end result of many years of fundraising. As well as being an excellent vehicle for the area it will be covering, its visibility within the community has generated interest from locals who are keen to find out more about becoming a community first responder for their local ambulance service.”
South Central Ambulance Service has about 1,600 volunteer community first responders, who are trained in basic life-saving skills.
