A man and his mission to mark Norman Wisdom's 100th birthday
To mark the comedian's 100th birthday on Wednesday (February 4), impressionist and look-a-like Glenn Ford set off on the very same venture as Norman once had, a 166mile walk from Paddington to Cardiff, in the hopes of raising £10,000 for the Grand Order of Water Rats Charities Fund.
Wearing a suit to match Mr Wisdom's iconic attire, Mr Ford, from Gosport, stopped off at the Newbury Weekly News headquarters in Faraday Road as he passed through the town today (Friday), on his way to Hungerford.
He set off from Padworth this morning, and will follow the A4 to Marlborough before stopping for the night.
Mr Ford's total is so far sitting at around £7,000.
Norman Wisdom died in October 2010 at the age of 95.
