A new Sainsbury’s Local has opened in Thatcham creating 20 new jobs for the local community

A new Sainsbury’s Local has opened in Thatcham creating 20 new jobs for the local community. The new Sainsbury’s Local is located on Coombe Square.

The store on Chapel Street, on the junction of Coombe Court, will trade from 7am until 11pm, seven days a week and includes 15 parking spaces for its customers.

Staff members Cherri Fuller and Sofia Sierra Suarez attended the opening with student Ben from Prior’s Court School- a charity providing specialist services to support people with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs, joined store manager, Kathy Fourthall, to cut the ribbon last Thursday.

Commenting on the opening, store manager Kathy Fourthall, said: “As the new store manager of the Thatcham Sainsbury’s Local, I am extremely proud to be opening our new store today. Colleagues and I have been looking forward to welcoming our new customers and showcasing the great range of products we have on offer.

I would like to thank the pupils and staff from Prior’s Court School who joined us today for the ribbon cutting, we hope to continue working closely with the school and the rest of the local community.”

Community and events fundraiser from the Prior’s Court charity, Jo Trezise, said: “We are thrilled to have been involved with the new Thatcham Local and on behalf of the student who attended the ribbon cutting we would like to thank the store for inviting us today and are so pleased that they have chosen Prior’s Court as their Charity of the Year. Being part of our local community is important for us and we are delighted to welcome a new Sainsbury’s Local to the community.”
