Help raise money for a community ping pong table in Owen Field, Shaw-cum-Donnington

A crowdfunder has been organised to raise money for a permanent outdoor ping pong table in Shaw-cum-Donnington.

The table will be placed in Owen Field.

The community wants to install a safe, fun and inclusive table tennis spot, helping all ages to play, connect and get moving.

Sport England has provisionally pledged £5,270 if the community helps to raise the rest.

Greenham Trust’s The Good Exchange has already donated £1,000 towards the project.

The money raised will go towards a weatherproof outdoor table, safe sub-base, rubber matting and shared bats and balls for all.

Kelly Rice says on the crowdfunding page: “This isn’t just a table – it’s a chance to bring people together.

“It will offer older residents a new reason to walk to the field, help keep kids safe by giving them somewhere to play and create opportunities for neighbours to connect across generations.”
