A Stylish collection
Hungerford exhibition of work by more than 40 contemporary designer silversmiths
Throughout July, as part of Hadcaf (Hungerford and District Community Arts Festival), Styles Silver in Bridge Street, is holding an exhibition of more than 40 contemporary designer silversmiths.
These include some local talent; Wallis Lavery from Hungerford, Zoe Watts from Wootton Bassett, Sian Matthews from Manton and Jenny Edge from Abingdon.
There is also work from some of the most highly respected silversmiths currently working in the UK – Malcolm Appleby, Brett Payne, Ndidi Ekubia among them and several up and coming makers just starting out.
Many of them have their work in several different royal collections, at 10 Downing Street, the V&A and other museums and major private collections around the world.
At the launch evening on Monday, George Styles spoke to a sell out audience about those exhibiting and silversmith Wallis Lavery held a discussion group about the more technical side of the craft.
The exhibition runs until Saturday, July 30 (closed Sundays) www.styles-silver.co.uk
