A339 access road plans to go before town council in public meeting tonight (Mon)

The plans were submitted by Jon Winstanley on behalf of landowner West Berkshire Council last month, and seek permission to construct a traffic light-controlled junction 230-metres south of the Robin Hood Roundabout.
It will include a dedicated right-hand-turn lane on the northbound carriageway of the A339, between its junctions at Bear Lane and the Robin Hood gyratory, and a signal controlled pedestrian and cycle crossing to link the estate with Victoria Park.
They will be put before Newbury Town Council’s planning and highways committee tonight, who will then submit their feedback to West Berkshire Council ahead of a decision being made.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will commence at 7.30pm at the council chamber in Newbury Town Hall, in the Market Place.
