A339 stretch through Newbury closed tonight (Thursday, May, 20)

A stretch of the A339 will be closed through Newbury tonight (Thursday).
The Newtown Road straight will be closed from its junctions with the Pinchington Lane roundabout and the Swan roundabout from 6pm until 6am on Friday, May 21.
West Berkshire Council said that the closure was to enable Volker Highways to conduct urgent resurfacing works.
A diversion will be in place via the A339, Thornford Road, Crookham Hill, Bury's Bank Road and Pinchington Lane, and vice versa.
An alternative diversion is to take the A34 and exit at Speen.
