A339 Newbury re-opened southbound




Collision involving two cars forced earlier closure

THE A339 in Newbury southbound has been re-opened, ollowing a collision involving two cars earlier this evening (Tues).

The A339 was closed southbound between the A343 St John's Road and Pinchington Lane during the incident and to allow for vehicle recovery.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) were called at 8.42pm and confirmed one person had been taken to hospital, with non life threatening injuries.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) sent a doctor, rapid response vehicle and two ambulances to the scene to treat two patients, a man and a woman.

One person was taken to the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

No further details were available from the ambulance service, including as to whether it was the man or woman taken to hospital.
