A339 turn-off to Bishops Green closed for roadworks
THE ROAD (turn-off) from the A339 leading to the bridge just before Bishops Green was set to be closed from today (Monday July 29), for up to 14 weeks, also affecting bus services.
The road, which also leads to Ecchinswell and Sydmonton, will be closed, for drainage and resurfacing works. Hampshire County Council has confirmed.
The 103 bus service will not be able to reach Bishops Green during the closure.
An hourly minibus shuttle service will operate from the Ash Road bus stop, between 7.55am and 3.55pm, to meet the eight minutes past the hour 103 service, at the coffee shop on the edge of Greenham Business Park, off the A339.
Operated by Basingstoke Community Transport, the shuttle service will be free of charge.
The county council aims to carry out the bulk of the work during the school holidays.
Any work outside the school holidays is likely to be carried out using traffic lights.
