A34 through West Berkshire closed this weekend for resurfacing works
Part of the A34 through West Berkshire will be closed this weekend.
The road is shut southbound from the A4130 to the M4 at Chieveley from 7.45pm tonight (Friday) until 6am on Monday (June 10).
The closure is to allow National Highways to carry out resurfacing of the carriageway.
A diversion is in place but motorists have been warned that it could add up to 50 minutes onto journeys.
National Highways said it would also be carrying out safety barrier renewals, white lining and litter picking while the road was shut.
“This will maintain safety and improve the journey for road users,” it added.
It is the third weekend in recent weeks where the road has been shut.
The signed diversion is via the A34, A40, M40, A404/A404M and then join the A34.
There is also a possibility the road will need to close again for a weekend in early July if there’s any delays.
