A34 remains partially closed at East Ilsley following lorry collision/ to close overnight northbound
The Highways Agency has confirmed one lane only of the A34 at East Ilsley in both directions was currently (5pm) open, during repair work to the central reservation.
The Highways Agency currently (5pm) has no estimated time that the A34 will be fully re-open.
Thames Valley Police were called to the scene at 8am, after the laden car transporter collided with the central reservation. No one was injured.
The lorry has since been recovered.
One lane of the carriageways, in both directions, were re-opened at around 2.40pm, whilst repairs to the central reservation were simultaneously carried out, with lengthy delays.
Both lanes of the northbound carriageway will close again overnight tonight (Thursday/Friday) for resurfacing work, the Highways Agency has confirmed:
“Inspection of the carriageway has revealed some damage to the carriageway and although it is safe, it does need to be resurfaced,” said Angela Harrison, a spokeswoman for the Highways Agency.
The A34 northbound will be closed between 10pm and 5am overnight tonight (Thursday/Friday) for the resurfacing work.
