A34 currently shut in Hampshire, between the A303 and Winchester

UPDATE - there are around 30 minute delays in the area, following the incident earlier.

The A34 is currently shut through part of Hampshire.

The southbound carriageway is closed between the A303 near Bullington and the A33, at Winchester.

The closure is due to a medical emergency and Hampshire Police and South East Coast Ambulance service are currently on the scene.

National Highways are assisting with traffic management.

A diversion has been put in place and drivers are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys or delay if they can.
