Travel news update: A34 reopened northbound, but southbound still shut between Chilton and Newbury

4.30pm: The A34 has reopened between Newbury and the Chilton interchange following a vehicle fire.

Fire crews are attending the scene and have asked motorists to 'avoid the area where possible'.

National Highways has said there are currently long delays of around 40 minutes.

Diversions are in place and the event is expected to clear around 4pm.

Update: The incident has now cleared.
