A34 south at Speen re-opened after collision




Collision involving 2 cars forces initial road closure

THE A34 at Speen was closed southbound for around an hour yesterday evening (Sun) after a collision involving two cars.

Two fire engines from Newbury were called at 7pm to the A34 at Speen southbound.

Firefighters found two cars spread across both lanes, one of which had crashed into the central reservation.

Two people were assessed at the scene by paramedics.

Firefighters made the scene safe before departing at 8pm.

The carriageway southbound and slip road were closed throughout the incident with long traffic tailbacks.
