A34 south of Newbury re-opened after collision




Woman air lifted from scene at Litchfield

The A34 south of Newbury has been fully re-opened, after the air ambulance landed near Litchfield earlier today (Mon) following a collision.

According to Thames Valley Police (TVP), the A34 between Litchfield and Whitchurch is now fully re-open, following an earlier collision near Litchfield.

Both northbound and southbound carriageways were earlier closed between Litchfield and Whitchurch, to assist with the air ambulance landing.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) sent the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and two other ambulances to the scene.

A woman passenger was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with serious leg injuries, according to police.

A male driver was taken to hospital by (road) ambulance with minor injuries.
