A4 closed for two hours after accident which left cyclist seriously injured yesterday (Thurs)
The cyclist, a man believed to be in his 70s, was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with what the ambulance service has described as serious neck injuries.
However, neither the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) nor Thames Valley Police could provide more details on his condition.
A white Mini Cooper was also involved in the accident, which occurred at around 3.15pm yesterday.
The road was closed soon after between the junction with the A34 and the Milkhouse Road junctions to allow the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance to land.
It remained closed until the vehicle and bicycle had been recovered, at around 6pm.
Another incident also got road users talking after two police cars collided on the A4 Western Avenue at around 4.35pm.
Thames Valley Police has not confirmed whether the cars were on route to an incident, but said that no-one was injured.
