A4 Kintbury shut for hours following lorry collision
Traffic woe for motorists after collision between two lorries at 4.30am today (Thursday) near Kintbury
A COLLISION between two lorries on the A4 at Kintbury at 4.30am has caused misery for motorists this morning (Thursday).
Thames Valley Police spokesman Leo Tarring said police were alerted at 4.39am after two lorries collided at the A4 crossroads at Kintbury near the Ramada hotel, halfway between Newbury and Hungerford.
Fire and ambulance attended the scene to aid one person who had been trapped in a vehicle.
One person, a 49-year-old male, was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading with injuries not thought to be life threatening.
The carriageway was still shut as of 9am, and police said it may stay that way for a while as the clean up operation to remove debris continues.
One man has been arrested but police have not released any further details.
