A4 re-opened after long delay




30mph speed restriction in place as clean-up in Kintbury continues

THE A4 in Kintbury has been re-opened with temporary speed restrictions following an incident at 4.30am this morning which saw it closed for most of the day.

A 32-year-old Dutch lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the collision between two lorries the A4 near the Ramada Hotel, in Kintbury, this morning.

Police attended and closed the road and it remained shut for much of the day while diesel was cleared the scene is cleared.

The section of road has now re-opened, but with a 30mph speed limit in place while the clean up operation continues.

Fire and ambulance attended the scene this morning to aid one person who had been trapped in a vehicle.

One person, a 49-year-old male, was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading with injuries not thought to be life threatening.
