Abandoned Mo is now the picture of health
He was rescued by staff at Dogs Trust Newbury, where he was nicknamed Mo. He has made a rapid recovery, prompting an appeal for someone to offer him a new home.
It is believed that he was abandoned rather than that he escaped or was accidentally left behind, and he was not microchipped so his owners could not be traced.
Assistant manager at the Dogs Trust Newbury, Jenny Hopkins, said: “Mo was very thin and dehydrated when he arrived and had a small bump on his head, so he needed urgent, round-the-clock care.
“When he arrived he was very weak and all he wanted to do was sleep. He is now very good at asking for cuddles and is full of beans.
“Given his ordeal, he has made a very good recovery, though he’s still a little worried about loud noises and sudden movements.
"He has been mixing very well with other dogs and is really coming out of his shell. He’ll make a fantastic companion.
