Accident causes delays in Newbury

A beige Seat Leon was involved in a collision just off the Burger King roundabout at about 7.40am today (Tuesday)

A ROAD traffic accident in Newbury caused delays around the Burger King Roundabout on Tuesday (May 24).

At about 7.40am, a beige Seat Leon and a blue Peugeot 206 were both involved in a collision at the Greenham Road exit to the roundabout, leaving the driver of the Seat Leon - a woman in her 60s - shaken, although she did not require hospital treatment.

The driver of the Peugeot did not stop at the scene, but later reported the collision to police.

The exit road was blocked off by police while the Seat Leon was recovered.

The road was re-open by about 9am.
