Accident closes A339 northbound near Robin Hood

A STRETCH of the A339 northbound in central Newbury has been closed due to a multi-vehicle accident, causing severe delays to rush hour motorists this evening (Monday).
The northbound carriageway has been closed between the Sainsbury's and Robin Hood roundabouts.
Two fire engines are currently at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing one of the occupants being cut from their vehicle after the roof had been removed.
It has not yet been confirmed how many vehicles were involved and whether any injuries were sustained.
