A restaurant near Newbury has achieved national acclaim yet again – and in time for its 10th anniversary.
The Woodspeen, a restaurant and cookery school set in a restored 19th-century farmhouse, now ranks in SquareMeal’s Top 100 UK Restaurants based on thousands of reader votes and the independent restaurant guide’s own expert critics.
SquareMeal – the only list of its kind to exclude London restaurants – aims to reflect Britain’s varied dining scene featuring everything from fine dining experiences to farm-to-table restaurants and gastropubs.
“The Woodspeen has ditched all the fuss whilst still managing to retain a first-class dining experience,” the guide read.
“Here, you can enjoy the theatricality of an open kitchen whilst enjoying fresh produce straight from the onsite garden.”
The restaurant will also be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, bringing further cause for celebration.
