Families turn out to celebrate 40th anniversary of charity Dingley’s Promise
Families from across the district helped mark a charity’s 40th anniversary of supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with a day of fun at Camp Mohawk.
Parents and children who use Dingley’s Promise, which offers nursery provision and developmental support to SEND children in the early years, gathered at the multi-functional day centre near Reading on Sunday, June 11, to mark the special occasion.
They all took part in a jam-packed day of activities, including swimming, soft play and meeting animals from the Basil and Crew mobile farm.
Catherine McLeod, CEO of Dingley’s Promise, said: “It was wonderful to see our families so relaxed, enjoying new experiences together and meeting other families.
“Thank you to everyone who made the celebrations so memorable.”
The families were also able to explore the Camp Mohawk facilities which included the music, arts and games rooms and the adventure playground.
They then all joined together to enjoy a celebratory lunch.
A raffle was also held during the event, which was sponsored by Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and supported by the Dingley’s Promise team, with prizes up for grabs for families both past and present.
One family who attended said: “Thank you so much for a fantastic day it was really very special.
“Dingley’s Promise is such an amazing place, and we feel so lucky to have this wonderful place as part of our journey.”
