Acts announced for Fairport’s Cropredy Convention 2024
The moment Fairporters have been waiting for: acts have been announced for next summer’s Fairport’s Cropredy Convention (August 8-10) and three-day ‘weekend’ tickets have gone on sale.
The line up so far is:
Fairport Convention and Friends
As ever, Fairport will open the show at 4pm on Thursday and close it with a mammoth set on Saturday night.
You may have recently seen Baskery at ACE Sace. Greta, Stella and Sunniva Bondesson are a trio of sisters from Stockholm with five studio albums behind them, the latest being recorded in Devon and produced by Sean Lakeman. Fabulous songs with perfect sibling harmonies.
Winners of numerous Progressive Music Awards and one of the festival’s most requested acts, Big Big Train go to Cropredy for the first time.
After a decade together, it’s time for folk/punk festival favourites Black Water Country to join the line-up at Cropredy.
Psychedelic southern rock warriors from the Deep South (of the Netherlands) this fabulous trio will have Fairporters out of their seats. These guys really rock!
With 10 critically acclaimed solo albums, three Brit Awards, a chart-topping single and an MBE in tow, Fairporters are in for a treat! From the traditional to the contemporary, Arlington Arts favourite, Eddi brings joyous life to all forms of song.
Multi-award-winning smoky voiced Elles Bailey has powered her way to the forefront of British blues, roots and Americana.
Dave Mattacks will be joining his bandmates in Feast of Fiddles for another rousing session. Welcome back all!
Formed in the 1960s and with massive hits such as Hocus Pocus and Sylvia.
Kathryn Tickell and The Darkening
From the shadow of Hadrian’s Wall yet reaching out to the wider world, Kathryn Tickell & The Darkening connect threads of music, landscape and people over almost 2,000 years.
Energetic festival band Ranagri have forged a new and contemporary sound on the folk scene, winning audiences at home and internationally.
Richard joins the festival once again for his ever-popular Saturday opening slot and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Rick Wakeman and The English Rock Ensemble
Headlining Thursday night, the Caped Crusader himself, Rick Wakeman CBE and The English Rock Ensemble. The absolute finest in classic prog rock. The festival will have to make space upstage centre – that’s a lot of keyboards…
Two from Lindisfarne, one from Fairport and one mysterious other, SilverBlues play some of the earlier Lindisfarne favourites alongside some of the newer ones which feature Ray’s astonishing blues harmonica.
Armed with no more than their voices, a nice line in deadpan and an ill-matched set of hats, this Australian ensemble has been gleefully disturbing audiences everywhere.
Headlining Friday night, no strangers to the Cropredy stage – The Trevor Horn Band. Expect hit after hit from Trevor, one of the most influential producers in popular music. A fabulous band with the added bonus of a mystery guest or two!
Cropredy Warm-Up Shows
The traditional Cropredy Warm-up shows on August 5 and 6 are returning to their former home at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury. Tickets are now on sale.
