LEARN MOREEIGHT Bells are looking for Community Navigators to reduce social isolation and support people’s mental and physical wellbeing throughout West Berkshire.
Community Navigators are volunteers that help people to connect with their local community, signposting them to services and discovering local groups or activities where they can make new friends.
We want people to feel confident to do things for themselves and encourage them to do things that will help them feel better and stay active for longer.
No two clients are the same, they will have different concerns and also different interests. Many will be experiencing feelings of anxiety, loneliness and isolation. They need help to know what is out there to support them and to regain their confidence.
A Community Navigator is a trained volunteer who has good local knowledge of what is going on in their community. By taking time to understand the needs and interests of the person they are helping, they can support them to try out something new.
Anyone with the right attitude and qualities can become a Community Navigator.
Our Volunteers must have a friendly nature and good listening skills with the ability to connect with a range of people. All necessary training will be provided. Even if you work you can also volunteer as we will
work together to fit your volunteer role around you and your current commitments. We want this to be a great experience for both you and the client.
