Air ambulance attends A34 incident
Air ambulance lands on golf course to attend multi-vehicle crash on A34 today (Saturday)
EMERGENCY services have attended a multi-vehicle incident on the A34 near Donnington today (Saturday).
Two cars were involved, and one male in his 20s was cut free from one of the vehicles by firefighters and taken by road ambulance to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading with back injuries.
The Hampshire and Isle Of Wight air ambulance was photographed on the tee of Donnington Grove golf course where medics attended the scene.
Two pumps from Newbury fire station were called to the incident.
Several other people were treated for minor injuries by paramedics from the South Central Ambulance Service at the scene.
Icy conditions have proved treacherous for drivers over the last two days and the Met Office has advised that those heading out in their vehicles may want to consider if the journey is absolutely necessary.
An amber alert warning for snow has been published by the weather experts, with flakes expected to fall later this afternoon.
Temperatures fell to minus eight in some areas of West Berkshire last night, and the freeze is expected to continue for the next few days.
