Air ambulance expected to be grounded until Sunday

The service has been temporarily grounded today (Fri), during tests on this particular model of helicopter.
The EC135 helicopter, which is manufactured by Eurocopter, is the same model which recently crashed in Glasgow, killing 10 people.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance resumed flights at 3pm yesterday (Thursday), after being grounded yesterday morning.
Spokeswoman for the service, Rachael Hunter, said: “As a precautionary measure, following an issue with the fuel indication system on one of their aircraft yesterday, Bond Air Services temporarily suspended service operations whilst they undertook further technical investigations of their fleet of EC135s, including the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.
“Bond Air Services have worked closely with the manufacturer, Eurocopter, to identify the immediate cause.
“They began a process of jointly testing the aircraft and are now sourcing and replacing the affected components.
“Bond Air Services have informed us that they are hopeful of being able to return the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance aircraft to normal operational service on Sunday.”
