Airlifted man remains in serious condition




Forty eight-year-old man flown to hospital after collision in Newbury yesterday (Wednesday) has serious head injuries

A MANwho was airlifted to hospital following a collision in Newbury yesterday afternoon, remains in a serious condition in hospital in Oxford today (Thursday).

According to Thames Valley police spokesman, Adam Fisher, the 48-year-old man sustained serious head injuries in the 3.20pm collision, on the A343 Andover Road, between Bartlemy Road and Tydehams, involving a Fiat Punto.

He was airlifted in the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance at the scene and taken to the John Radcliffe hospital, Oxford.

The Andover Road reopened at 5.40pm yesterday.
