Aldermaston waste fire under investigation - update

Public health officers at West Berkshire Council were called following reports of trade waste being burnt at Castle Windows in Frouds Lane just off the A4.
A member of the public who contact NewburyToday said that the smoke was billowing across the road and that she was concerned it would cause an accident.
Council officers have also informed the Environment Agency about the fire and will be visiting the site today.
Update 4.30pm
A spokeswoman for West Berkshire Council, Peta Stoddart-Crompton, said that environment agency officers had investigated the site this afternoon.
They reported that there was no evidence of plastics being burnt and that the fire would not be relit.
