All change at the Exchange

Arts venue's doors close for refurb

THE Corn Exchange’s box office, foyer and café bar will be closed to the public while refurbishment work is carried out. The plan is to develop the space, not only so that it functions better, but also to create a more appealing and inviting place for audiences to spend time.

During the refurbishment period there will be a selection of films available throughout August, although there will be slightly fewer than normal, so as not to cause any disruption. In addition, the Corn Exchange’s Family Festival, #GenerationZ, will still take place as planned from Friday, July 31 to Saturday, August 8. The monthly Memory Café for people living with dementia will continue on August 24 but at the West Berkshire Museum.

If you are planning on attending an event during these planned works, you will need to enter the building from the side entrance, which is located down the alleyway to the right-hand side of the building.
There are signs directing you to the auditorium and cinema and these doors will open approximately 30 minutes before the advertised start times.
You will be able to buy tickets or collect pre-paid tickets for the event you are attending at a temporary box office once you are inside.

If you would like to buy tickets, the Corn Exchange phone lines are still open. Just call 0845 5218 218 (local rates apply from landlines), no booking fees will be charged on telephone transactions whilst the refurbishment work is being carried out. Phone lines are open Mondays 10am-5pm, Tuesday to Saturday 10am-7pm, Sundays 11am-5pm. You can also book online 24/7 at www.cornexchangenew.com

It is helpful if you can tell the Corn Exchange in advance if you have any access additional requirements and their front of house staff will be able to answer any questions you might have. Both the entrance to the cinema and auditorium will be fully accessible by wheelchair or for anyone with a pushchair. Accessible toilets and a lift will also be available.
