Two men have been airlifted to hospital following a collision in Froxfield.
Two air ambulances were called to the scene of the crash on the A4.
Watch manager at Newbury Fire Station, Phil Knight, said that firefighters from Wiltshire, Pewsey and Newbury freed two trapped men from cars involved in a head on collision.
He added that the road was closed to allow a police investigation to be carried out.
The road is closed between the Bear roundabout in Hungerford and the Salisbury Road junction in Marlborough.
