All hail to the Chief!
But the chances are, you’ll be hearing a lot more from her in the future.
Ladies and gentlemen - all hail to the Commander-in-Chief!
The 23-year-old, who lives in Woolhampton, is on her way to becoming an international rock icon for her guitar pyrotechnics.
Already she has been revered as “one of 10 modern guitar gods” by Metal Hammer magazine, which went on to describe her as “a seven-string-wielding Norwegian uber-shredder who has made it her mission in life to prove that shredding at blistering speeds is not just a male phenomenon.”
Her quirky cover of the Black Sabbath classic, Paranoid, has won her legions of fans around the world with its fret-melting intensity and operatic vocals.
Even her guitar is an object of veneration - it’s a prototype Ibanez X-series Falchion 7 customised with EMG pickups and, so far, it’s the only one in the world.
She acquired it after trying it out at an international exhibition of cutting edge musical equipment in Germany. Once the Ibanez reps had removed their jaws from the floor, they offered it to her for free so she could endorse their range.
Speaking from her Woolhampton home, she said: “I’d been travelling all over the United States and Europe but settled in West Berkshire over a year ago. Woolhampton is going to be my base.”
Her growing army of fans know her only as the Commander-in-Chief and she said: “I chose it because I was living in America during the presidential election and I just thought it would be a badass name that would make me stand out.”
In the past 24 months she has played Hammerfest metal festival in Wales; featured on American television; played at The Garage in London, supported metal legends TNT in Europe and played the prestigious Bloodstock Festival alongside Alice Cooper and Machine Head.
The world's leading metal magazine, Revolver, featured her with a full page as their Hottest Chick in Hard Rock.
She said: “I started playing guitar in 2005 and the last year has been so much fun. I’ve just released a classical piece for violin which has never been played on guitar. Guitar World, the biggest guitar mag in the world, saw it and posted it on their website and I was stoked when it got 20,000 shares in 24 hours.”
The Commander-in-Chief says her profile is “slowly building” and she’s off to Los Angeles soon to play a gig there.
A new single and video, ‘I am The Commander-In-Chief’ has been released on Commander Records.
