All lanes on A4 re-opened
BOTH lanes on the A4 Bath Road have now re-opened following a serious collision this afternoon.
Both lanes were initially closed after a black Vauxhall Agila collided with a silver Peugeot 308 between the A340 Basingstoke Road, at the Aldermaston Wharf roundabout, and the A340 Wigmore Lane, Theale roundabout today (Sat).
The westbound lane later re-opened.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a 68-year-old man was been airlifted hospital with serious injuries.
Thames Valley Police is appealing to witnesses of the incident.
PC Gareth Miles, who is investigating the accident, said: “It was a busy time of day and as there were plenty of motorists in the area at the time, I am appealing to anyone who saw these vehicles being driven before the collision happened, to get in touch.”
