'All quiet' on the Hungerford front, say Thames Valley Police




HUNGERFORD'S neighbourhood police team said they had a quiet August, despite the school holidays.

The monthly full meeting of the town council on Monday night, September 5, was given a written update of reported crimes during the past four weeks.

There had, said the team, been one burglary at a business premises on the outskirts of the town.

In addition, there were three reports of shoplifting.

Finally, said town mayor Helen Simpson, who read out the report, "there were three incidents of antisocial behaviour – none of which involved youngsters, despite the school holidays".
